Lolo is from LA, a lot of her work is in the anime type style. She is very well known particularly in the USA. She paints under several different names – Squid.licker, Lolo, Lauren YS– depending on which style she is using in each piece. Before she was due at Tumby Bay, Lolo was painting in a street art festival in Guam and was 2 days late getting to Tumby due to flight delay. A credit to her, she worked well into the night to complete the piece during the festival. Often street artists don’t fully know what they are going to do until they arrive and get a feel for the place and discover what is unique about the place. Lolo heard about the leafy sea dragons when she arrived and was intrigued by them, so she decided to use the leafy sea dragons as her theme with an anime spin.
